Will NJROTC help me in NROTC?

I want to go into the navy for nuke engineering and I was wondering if I do NJROTC if it will help me for my college ROTC besides just knowing some things that they will teach me anyways. And since I'll be going in as an officer because of ROTC the boost to e-3 from JROTC won't help me correct?
