US Army and College question?

For a while now I have been looking into joining the Army. But I know that in today's world you cannot get a six figure job without a college education. I was thinking about ROTC but being an enlisted you have so many more opportunities in the Army. Officers do not get that much time in the field before they get to Major and have to essentially stay in an FOB while everybody else goes out. I'm not some 14 year old who plays COD too much and thinks it will be like that but I don't want a desk job. ROTC seems like the only way for me to pay for college and go to college before joing teh Army. Am I wrong, would there be a way for the US Army to pay for my college and when I was finished I would enlist and if I didnt like the enlisted life I would go to OCS?
