While I agree with your sentiment that it's a better idea to go for guys with a bit more substance and intelligence, I don't agree that you should fall for the first guy who shows signs for the ability to hold a conversation, it's very easy to feign intelligence over the internet, just look at half of the morons of yahoo answers that think they know their elbows from their asses, there are plenty of decent and intelligent guys out there, don't settle for the first one.
