Chick in the special forces?

Okay so i have a few questions. First off I want to join the army and potentially the special forces. I've heard of the "Funny Platoon" allowing girls but is that the only way for a female to be in the special forces? Also do you have to be a green beret before you can go into the special forces? And would doing ROTC and joining as a commissioned officer make a difference in the potential to advance?
